Looks like the conservative traditionalists got it first

The Thinking Housewife – Why dissidence is no longer adequate

Halleluja! It looks like the idea that the current system cannot be “saved” is starting to arrive in the conservative traditionalist circles in America. Funny, I always figured that libertarians would be the ones figuring this first. But maybe they’ve always known it, deep down. Somehow, I don’t actually think Ron Paul wanted to be president, I think he only wanted to spread the message.

You have to win peoples hearts and minds, not their votes. Anyway, it fills my heart with joy when people start talking about simply mentally seceding from the current US society and starting to rebuild a society of their own.  That means that civil society has FINALLY awoken, and that there will at least be a few people that refuse to go down with the State, when it topples of its own weight, corruption and decadence.

Hurrah! Prepare the Ark! Exodus awaits!

(I do not write this to discourage those libertarians who try to change the political system – spreading ideas is good, and IF it is possible to actually get the State of our back through regular political means, I will applaud any and all efforts to do so. But I remain sceptical, and the idea of a “backup plan” is starting to sound more and more crucial)

I think I’ll need to know what is meant by “moral order” before I can support anybody like this. Sounds a bit like just another tyrant looking to be in charge.

Oh, I have no illusions regarding the traditionalists. Many of them would gladely force everyone else into their “moral order”. But its at least encouraging to see that more people are realizing that a society cannot be built by overtaking the State and using its powers to impose their dreams. One could hope that it in time makes people realize that instituting their own State will make them guilty of the same sins as the current leaders.

Trying to be a libertarian in the face of all the power-mongering can be pretty tiresome at times.
